I’m an economic development consultant. I have 20 year’s experience across the North East of England, both at the sharp-end of local delivery and at a senior level in regional policy. I’ve been working freelance since June 2011, for a wide range of clients and with a number of partners. I also act in a voluntary capacity through three great organisations – see more here.
To find out a little more about my background, I recommend the prezi below for a quick tour. Alternatively, a more traditional version of my cv is available here: Robin Beveridge CV
I like to focus on sustainable economic development, by which I mean creating new economic activity that lasts, that benefits people who need it most, that improves rather than worsens environmental issues, and that helps build a stronger society.
I provide support to public organisations, private businesses and voluntary sector bodies. I always aim to offer practical support, independent advice and informed insight, focussing on the end result – the people and businesses supported and the benefits created – that really matter.
While based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I am available to work across the north of England. I work closely with a number of excellent companies, enabling me to bring in wider expertise and capacity when needed. For example, I work with New Skills Consulting, InTrain Solutions and AudioClicks. I have also set up a Community Interest Company called Your Back Yard to deliver small scale regeneration: find out more at www.yourbackyard.org.uk.
